Halton police are investigating following the brazen theft of a vehicle from an Oakville dealership.

At some point during the overnight hours between Monday, Sept. 5 and Tuesday, Sept. 6 suspects used a vehicle to smash through a gate at the Oak-Land Ford Lincoln dealership at 570 Trafalgar Rd., police said.

Once on the lot the intruders entered a white 2020 Lincoln Navigator.

Police said the thieves cut the cable to the alarm and damaged the vehicle’s locking cylinder but were unable to steal it.

The suspects then entered a black 2018 Lincoln Navigator, which they were able to get started and steal from the lot.

Besides stealing the vehicle police estimate the suspects did more than $5,000 worth of damage to the dealership’s gate and the vehicle they were unable to steal.

Police said the vehicle used to smash through the dealership’s gate received some damage as debris was found at the scene.

No suspect descriptions are available.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Halton police at 905-825-4747 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
